Science
Science has so many fun projects and children love to participate in the experiments. Science is easy to "make it Montessori" by following a few guidelines.
- Study the topic. You the presenter needs to study it. Know your topic as well as you can (within reason) before presenting it. Have enthusiasm for your topic and know the real world applications of it. Many books are available as well as online resources.
- Prepare the presentation. Gather all of the needed materials. Practice your presentation before giving it to your students. Prepare the material in such a way that your students can replicate the experiment later on their own.
- Prepare nomenclature cards for any new vocabulary you will introduce.
- Give the presentation to the students then put the work on the science shelf for the students to use again and again.
- Have additional supplies, instructions, books, stories and websites readily available for extending the work.
