Push Pin Work

Push Pin Work

Objective:  The push pin work hones the child's fine motor skills in preparation for writing.  It also lends itself to developing precision and concentration.  Depending on the object drawn on the paper, some other knowledge can be reinforced.

Ages:  3 - 7 years

Control of Error:  Holes set too far apart or not along the line will result in the "cut out" form having a jagged edge.

Presentation:  Select the Push Pin work from the shelf.  Choose a paper to push pin.  Perforate the outside edge of the form.  Eventually the form will be "cut out" of the paper.  The cut out form can then be used in another work or simply pasted to another paper.  Return the Push Pin work to the shelf.
