Blue Constructive Triangles

Blue Constructive Triangles

Objective:  The Blue Constructive Triangles help the child recognize some of the properties of right angled triangles and familiarlize him with geometric forms.

Ages:  4 - 6
Control of Error:  The pattern is visually incomplete or wrong.

Prerequisite:  The Constructive Triangles should be very familiar to the child prior to this work.

Presentation 1:  Roll out a rug in preparation for the presentation.  Select the Blue Constructive Triangles from the shelf and remove four triangles from the box.  Place the four triangle so that the 90 degree angles (right angles) are all touching.  Conclude the presentation by returning the triangles to the box and rolling up the rug.

Presentation 2:  Proceed as above except use six triangles and put the 60 degree angles together.

Presentation 3:  Proceed as above except using all twelve triangles, putting the 30 degree angles together.
